Payment Gateway FAQs
What exactly is the Smart Statement?
A Smart Statement lets a buyer access
the online receipts of purchases made in each store. It
presents a list of transactions that were made in the store
that was being visited. The status of the shipment (product
ordered) can be tracked with a smart statement. But this
feature is only available to registered members of eBuyTM.
When is the credit
card charged?
That depends on the type of goods
that one has purchased. If software has been purchased and
is immediately downloaded, then the credit card is charged
at the click of the "Buy Now" button in the eBuyTM
order form. If the product purchased needs to be shipped,
then the credit card is charged only after the merchant
indicates that the goods have been shipped out to the buyer's
address.
How big is E-
Commerce in India?
While there are no official estimates,
people are now looking at this ranging anywhere between
500 million to three times the figure. Popular vote is for
the B2B (Business - to - Business) category of e-commerce
business taking a larger portion of the share, considering
the legal & infrastructural question marks in the Indian
scenario. The good news is that most large corporates in
India are recognizing the importance of e-commerce and investing
in it in a big way.
Are e-commerce
transactions considered legal in India?
Credit card Transactions have no legal
barriers in India. Contrary to common perception, the RBI
has not laid down any regulations for the need for signatures,
etc. In fact, there are already a few shopping malls in
India that already accept credit card transaction.
